Sometimes my work has a tendency to surrealism. The eye of god symbolizes a spiritual quality in every living creature, and the pupil worked out as a target disk is a reflection on how we treat these creatures. I wrote the following poem to go along with this piece:

Tuna

Mighty predator

roaming the ocean

catching your prey

only to be caught

yourself, in a net

or with a sharp hook

of stainless steel

piercing your mouth

a painful forewarning

of what humans have to offer

on their slaughter ships

Well, you are a hunter yourself

with teeth like knifes

of stainless steel

ripping apart all those

who could not escape

your terror

you track them down

in the depth of the ocean

Killing is your way of life

you cannot complain

you felt save

on top of the food chain

but since we humans

developed from apes

in the savanna

and learned to master

the earth

and the sky

and the sea

it is you

who has turned

into prey

we cut you into bite-sized chunks

and spread you out

on our sandwiches

Would you have guessed

how fast things can change

and the hunter

becomes the haunted?
